What is Collaborative Divorce? Using a team of professionals (legal, financial, mental health) to assist families through the divorce process outside of court. The clients and team all sign agreements not to use the adversarial court process. MORE >What is Cooperative Practice? Clients engage in open communication and information sharing with the goal of minimizing conflict and reaching resolution without a trial. Does it always work? Of course not. But the choice of professional makes all the difference. What is mediation? Using a neutral expert to help parties negotiate their family law issues and achieve compromise even where there is conflict. A frank discussion about finances and expectations and a well-bargained pre-nuptial agreement takes away the pain of potential divorce (or at least reduces it substantially). MORE >While no pre-nup is iron-clad in Wisconsin, because the law allows room for the unforeseen, there are ways to approach the topic with sensitivity and clarity, and a good pre-nup is often a great path to a long happy marriage. What could be more romantic?
